Branded Content Internships

 

VICE offers work experience placements throughout the year. You will get a firsthand look into how an international media company functions on a day-to-day basis. You will have the opportunity to learn about branded content, creative, editorial, media, public relations, marketing, events, production and more.

Branded Content internship at VICE Australia

Branded content is an exciting and evolving area of media where our client partners fund articles and short form video. The content promotes their brand, but is still in line with VICE’s editorial tone and voice.

A VICE branded content internship allows you the chance to pitch, develop and write content alongside our branded content team, as well as being involved in responding to creative briefs. You will be immersed in the team, becoming more confident in sourcing and researching pitches to clients.

The ideal candidate will be studying Media & Communications or Journalism and keen to develop skills in branded content creative and editing.

Our aim is to help you work on a range of branded content campaigns to demonstrate work for your folio by the end of your placement. Successful VICE interns regularly transition into being valued and central contributors.

Design Internships

 

VICE offers work experience placements throughout the year. You will get a firsthand look into how an international media company functions on a day-to-day basis. You will have the opportunity to learn about design, motion graphics, illustrations, photography, marketing, events, production and more.

The placement must be done as a requirement of an education or training course. When applying please let us know your course requirements.

This placement is for three months, for 2-3 days a week.

 

Design internship at VICE Australia

VICE design internships allow you the chance to design, illustrate, create motion graphics and work on studio shoots. You will be immersed in the team, becoming more confident in pitching and creating your own artwork independently. Design intern artwork is usually focused on liaising with the editorial and social departments to answer briefs that aid their narratives. Design interns are expected to meet the same deadlines as staff designers.

Alongside design, interns also assist staff with research, moodboarding and daily art tasks.

Our aim is to help you build a selection of professional, finished artworks by the end of your placement. We keep in touch with all of our interns and are happy to help you with anything we can as your forge your own career path.

If you have experience in After Effects, that is a huge bonus.

Editorial interns are expected to meet the same deadlines as staff writers, and bring in their own content ideas.

Alongside writing, interns also assist staff with research, transcriptions and daily editorial tasks.

Our aim is to help you build a selection of professional, published pieces by the end of your placement. Successful i-D interns regularly transition into being valued and central contributors.

 

IMPORTANT

To be considered for this editorial internship at VICE applicants must possess and/or understand the following:

  • Understand this is non-paid vocational placement
  • Commitment of approx. 3-month period
  • Currently be studying in the areas of arts, media, journalism or communications.
  • Possess a laptop with Wi-Fi capability.
  • Familiarity with MAC apple office products.

VICE also provides brand strategy and creative services to brands, helping them develop marketing platforms with an emphasis on digital media, content creation and consumer engagement. We roll out a wide variety of projects including events, branded content and brand activations.  Our clients include a range of consumer brands, ranging from lifestyle to technology, fashion and FMCG.

Creative Projects Internship, Sydney

You will work closely with the team as they execute media campaigns and creative projects. This placement would suit someone with an interest in media, marketing, events, project management and the creative agency world. You must have a passion for culture, excellent writing and communication skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. You will gain as understanding of  events and production, carrying out research, liaising with our internal creative team, clients and suppliers, monitoring media, and marketing and communications activities.

Please note: This internship is only available as part of an education or training course, such as an internship or work placement subject at university. The placement is for three months, for minimum 2 days a week, so you will need to be able to commit to this time.

Video Post Production Internship, Melbourne

VICE is a global media company producing groundbreaking, thought provoking, and creative video content through our digital and TV platforms. The post-production department of VICE works with video editors, assistant editors, producers, directors, and post coordinators in handling footage from VICE shoots and creating stories from field material. Interns will learn the basics of data management and post workflows, assistant editing, transcoding footage, archiving, and post production organization. Candidates should have a strong interest in video editing, social media video content, and data management. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, in particular Premiere Pro, is essential.

This internship is suited to Film and Television students with an interest in video editing, or multimedia / IT students with an interest in video. You should be technically proficient, thorough, confident and enthusiastic. An eagerness to learn editing software and systems will also be well considered.

IMPORTANT

To be considered for this internship at VICE applicants must possess and/or understand the following:

  • Understand this is non-paid internship.
  • Commitment of approx. 15 hours per week minimum required for a three month period.
  • Currently studying (or have studied) in the areas of media, communications, film, IT, multimedia and/or journalism.

Video Production Internship, Melbourne

You will work primarily with the Video Production team on a range of projects at various stages of production. You should be capable in researching and pitching ideas, and interested in learning how an idea is taken from concept to completion. You must be confident and enthusiastic to execute your ideas to fruition with astute creative problem solving and organisation.

Any knowledge and experience of the production process will be highly regarded, especially with the pre-production process. Ideally you should have knowledge and experience with filming and using industry standard film equipment. Knowledge of editing software, in particular Adobe Premiere Pro, would also be highly regarded.

You will gain experience working on documentary style content across various VICE platforms – VICE.com, VICE Sports, Broadly, Noisey, and The Creators Project. There is also room to pitch and contribute written editorial content to VICE’s platforms.

This internship is suited to Film, Media and Journalism students. Applicants should have a good understanding of the video production process and should have an active awareness of the zeitgeist, popular culture and a keen interest in politics.
