Editorial Internships

 

VICE offers work experience placements throughout the year. You will get a firsthand look into how an international media company functions on a day-to-day basis. You will have the opportunity to learn about editorial, media, public relations, marketing, events, production and more.

The placement must be done as a requirement of an education or training course. When applying please let us know your course requirements.

This placement is for three months, for 2-3 days a week.

 

Editorial internship at VICE Australia

A VICE editorial internships allow you the chance to pitch, develop and write content alongside our editorial team. You will be immersed in the team, becoming more confident in sourcing and researching your own stories. Editorial intern pieces are usually focused on short form news reporting, interviews and reports on their own community. Editorial interns are expected to meet the same deadlines as staff writers, and bring in their own content ideas.

Alongside writing, interns also assist staff with research, transcriptions and daily editorial tasks.

Our aim is to help you build a selection of professional, published pieces by the end of your placement. Successful VICE interns regularly transition into being valued and central contributors.

Editorial interns are expected to meet the same deadlines as staff writers, and bring in their own content ideas.

IMPORTANT

To be considered for this editorial internship at VICE applicants must possess and/or understand the following:

  • Understand this is non-paid vocational placement
  • Commitment of approx. 3-month period
  • Currently be studying in the areas of arts, media, journalism or communications.
  • Possess a laptop with Wi-Fi capability.
  • Familiarity with MAC apple office products.
